Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

I'm in a bit of a financial rut. If anyone would like to commission me, it would be greatly appreciated! <3

Even if I don't get any commissions, I'll at least have a journal up with my rates and whatnot. A lot of the prices are negotiable, so just note me with any questions! I'm currently only thinking of doing character commissions, like a simple picture and simple bg (or no bg, whatever you prefer).

chibi (cg colored) - $10

(for only 1 character; it'll be roughly the size of the chibi featured in the second example)

half body (cg colored) - $15

(for only 1 character; what half body means is anything that's not full body. it can be bust size, or even a little larger, like in the second example)

full body (cg colored) - $20

(for only 1 character; the bg in the second example would be a perfect example of a 'simple' bg)

Since I haven't really gotten any commissions as of late, I'm gonna make it a little cheaper. If you want 2 or more characters on the same page (interacting or not, etc), it'll cost half of the original price extra! So for example, two chibis will be $15 dollars (10+5), two half-body characters will be $22 (15+7), and two full body characters will be $30 (20+10).
